How to View Your Grades and Feedback
Staying informed about your academic progress is essential. This guide will help you check your grades and view feedback from your instructor in D2L Brightspace.
Step 1: Access the Grades Tool
- Log in to D2L Brightspace: Start by logging into your D2L Brightspace account using your username and password.
- Navigate to Your Course: Select the course for which you want to view grades from your course list.
- Go to Grades: In the course navigation bar, click on "Grades" to access the Grades tool. This is where you can see all your grades and feedback for the course.
Step 2: View Your Grades
- Locate Your Grade Items: In the Grades tool, you will see a list of grade items. These are the tasks and assignments your instructor has graded.
- Grade Items: These may include assignments, quizzes, participation, and exams.
- Categories: Grade items may be organized into categories to help you and your instructor quickly locate specific grades.
- Check Your Score: In the "Grade" column, you will see the score you have earned for each grade item. This shows how well you performed on each task.
Step 3: View Feedback and Rubrics
- Read Instructor Feedback: In the "Comments and Assessments" column, you can find personalized feedback from your instructor. This feedback may include comments on your work, suggestions for improvement, and insights into your performance.
- View Graded Rubric: If a rubric was used to grade your assignment:
- Click View Graded Rubric: This will show you a detailed breakdown of how you earned your grade, including specific feedback for each criterion, your total score, and overall comments.
- Review the Rubric: Use this information to understand where you excelled and where you can improve.
- Click Close: After reviewing the rubric, click "Close" to return to the Grades tool.
Step 4: Navigate Through Multiple Grade Items
- Explore Other Grades: If you have multiple grade items, use the Grades tool to navigate through each one. You can view feedback and rubrics for each assignment or task.
Evaluate Your Overall Performance: Use the information from your grades and feedback to evaluate your overall performance in the course and identify areas for improvement.
