How to Create Quizzes
Step 1: Access the Content Tool
- Log in to D2L.
- Select Your Course: From the My Courses widget choose the desired course.
- Navigate to Content: Click "Content" in the course navbar to access the Content tool.
Step 2: Create a New Quiz
- Select a Module: Choose the module where you want to create the quiz.
- Create a Quiz: Click Upload/Create > New Quiz.
- Enter Quiz Details:
- Quiz Name: Provide a name for the quiz.
- Grade Value: Enter the grade value.
- Add to Grade Book: Select this option if the quiz should be included in the Grade Book.
- Not in Grade Book: Choose this option for practice or formative quizzes.
- Due Date (Optional): Set a due date if applicable.
- Description (Optional): Add a brief description.
Step 3: Configure Quiz Settings
- Use the drop-down menus on the right side of the quiz creation page to access additional configurations.
Step 4: Add Questions to the Quiz
- Create New Questions:
- Click "Create New" > "New Question".
- Select the question type and fill in the question details.
- Note: Written-response question types require manual grading.
- Click "Save and New" to create another question or "Save" to return to the quiz creation page.
- Upload a File to Your Quiz:
- Click "Upload a File" to attach a file.
- Click "Browse Files", drag the file into the upload window, and click "Import All".
- Import Questions from Existing Sources:
- Browse Question Library: Select existing questions from previous quizzes in Brightspace.
- Import from Learning Repository: Browse and add learning resources to your quiz.
Step 5: Finalize and Save the Quiz
- Click "Save and Close."
- If a Grade Item was entered, it will now appear in the Grade Book.
- Date and grade details will be updated based on the quiz settings.
Step 6: Review and Navigate Back
- Review the Quiz Details: Ensure all configurations are correct.
- Navigate Back: Use the breadcrumbs (file path under the navbar) to return to the Content Tool.
